Located just off the N-340/E-15 Albunol sits in the Contraviesa mountains halfway between the Alpujarras and the coast and is easily reached from the airports of Granada, Malaga and Almeria.

Since its Moorish origins Albunol has existed as a both a farming town and, due to its proximity to the sea, a maritime town. With its winding, whitewashed streets and its setting amongst vineyards and almond groves Albunol makes for an attractive base from which to enjoy active outdoor pursuits with many hiking routes along the hills of El Gato, Los Galvez and La Ermita. Although not directly on the seafront the beaches are a very short ride away for those preferring something a little more leisurely.
