Details
This small seaside town is located just off the N-340 along Granadas Costa Tropical a short drive east of the larger town of Motril and within an hours drive south of Granada City.
The main attraction here is the beach which has many facilities including a kiddies play area, WC, showers, a first aid point and several bars and chiringuitos. The natural harbour is home to many small boats belonging to local fishermen while the rocky cliffs along the coastline are popular spots for snorkelling and diving.
Evidence of Calahondas Moorish past can be found in the shape of the many lookout towers dotted along the local coastline.
