Granada Airport is located in the plains of the river Genil, 16 kilometres west of Granada near the small town of Sante Fé.
It is a modern airport managed by the Spanish airport authority, AENA. In 2005 it handled just over 800,000 passengers, 200,000 more than the previous year thanks to the introduction of flights by Monarch Airlines and Ryanair. The terminal building has two arrival areas and three boarding gates and can cater for 550 departures per hour. The majority of flights are national to Madrid, Barcelona, Palma and Gran Canaria in the Canary Islands. In addition, there are regular international flights to Gatwick, Stanstead and Liverpool.

Car park: Spaces for 450 cars. First half hour is free, after that from 1.5€. Daily (24hours) and monthly passes are available. Open 7.30am to 9.30pm.
Access
By car: Access to the airport is from the A92 motorway that runs from Seville to Granada.
By taxi: Taxi rank next to terminal building, reasonably priced a trip to the city centre costs about 17€.
By bus: Bus park is outside the terminal building and there are 7 departures daily to and from the airport. Tickets approximately 3€. To the city: 8:00, 11:40, 12:40, 14:00, 16:20, 17:15 and 18:40. The route is Airport - La Caleta - Avda. de la Constitución - Gran Vía - Palacio de Congresos. To the airport: 9:00, 12:45, 13:45, 17:20, 18:15, 19:45 and 23:00 hours. Bus departs from the Palacio de Congresos. |
