Hi to you all

we are new to this site but have long since been members of the viva almeria site.

We are looking to move to Spain in 2007 and are looking around some of the Granada areas as well as almeria.

We like the look of Albunol but have not yet visited. We are planning many viewings in February.

We have two young children 8 & 6 and are fortunate enough not to have to work immediately.

We are all currently studying Spanish but I think us adults will struggle far more than the children.

We have a holiday place in Almeria but want to live in a village which is typically Spanish with good schools and social life for our children.

I would welcome any advice etc but basically just wanted to introduce ourselves........

Cheers

Hi Lesandflynny,

Welcome to the forum (must have bumped into you at some stage on viva-almeria icon_lol.gif ).

We have a place just down the road from Albunol towards La Rabita...and absolutely adore the area. Albunol seems to have everything you need with schools, banks, chemist etc but is very Spanish and very few people speak any English, so it will help to learn a little.

La Rabita, 5 minutes away, is on the coast and has some lovely little shops and bars/restaurants...beach is a bit pebbly, but we can live with that icon_lol.gif

Good luck in your hunt.

PS - If you want a couple of photos of the area, PM us with your email address

Hi Casafruta

we definitely have spoken on viva almeria, I am sure I spoke to you about the "sky dish" ...still there no worries!

I would love some photo's, and any recomedations regarding local trustworthy agents to...... obviously via pm.

I have read about La Rabita, it does indeed sound beautiful. Are you there now, how is the weather. Do you have central heating?? I think I will definitely need this after a couple of years ... when I have climatised... Sky, broadband & central heating would be my luxary's ---- none of which I see as a problem, i am assuming you are using broadband? Would you mind also pm me who provides it, is it reliable and what monthly cost? Ta

Any other tips most welcome.

Cheers
