Albert, are these recipe books? If so, could do with a few good tips...have a huge lemon tree in our garden with hundreds of fruit on. I suppose there's only so much you can do with a lemon???

Lemon in G&T is just fine, but fresh lime is excellent. Not sure, though, which is the[u:7585b659b5] true [/u:7585b659b5] bit of veg to put in it. Also, a friend from ages ago (WH) back in UK always used to say that the secret of a good dry martini was to pour in the gin, then just let a southerly wind blow over the glass for a couple of seconds. Don't want to spoil it, do you!!!!

Hi Burgo,

Fresh lemon in G & T is great...Lime to us is better. However by a total mistake on our part, we once thought that an unriped orange was a lime and put a slice of that in...it was absolutely gorgeous! What a mistaka to maka! Give it a try when your oranges aren't quite ripened.

Cheers

Excellent idea! I feel a blind tasting coming on this weekend. Nothing flashy, just a few bottles of Gordons, some Sch you know who and a good handful of assorted oranges, lemons, limes, oranges, nisporas, etc. Might stay clear of the chirimoyas though, but you never know..... !

Let us know how you go on Burgo - Maybe a new thread for what the best gin mixer is? We drink it like water when we are out there, so could do with some good alternatives...your nisparo suggestion sounds promising!

I too have read Chris Stuart's "Driving over Lemons" and thought it was brilliant.

Since we have had our place I can so relate to many of the "incidents" that happened to him and the experiences he had. It really made sense (!) if that makes sense!!!!

Anyway, just couldn't let the opportunity pass regarding "Mother's Ruin" (gin) my favourite mixer is grapefruit juice in a tall glass with the afore-mentioned gin and lots of ice, very refreshing and what a way to watch the sun go down (Ahhhh, I can taste it already, hic!)
