This large town is situated 15km south of Granada City just off the E-902 in an area known as the Lecrin Valley.

Light industry is the main economic activity followed by agriculture and crop cultivation. Despite the small industrial estate the actual centre of Padul is quite attractive. The old town area is typical of the region being made up of white-washed houses along narrow streets. Most commercial activity seems to be centred on and around the towns main road - Avenida Andalucia, a wide tree lined avenue with many shops, bars etc that runs from one end of the town to the other.

The town is nicely maintained and is surrounded by beautiful countryside and its proximity to the Sierra Nevada Natural Park makes it an ideal place from which to enjoy may outdoor activities
