This small hamlet is located in the south-east of the Province just off the N-340 about an hours drive south of Granada City. The area was first settled by the Arabs and, after the Reconquest of Granada, became part of the estate of Albunol.
The growing of grapevines and the production of wine are of huge importance to the local economy aswell as the cultivation and production of almonds and figs. The general feel of the town, as with most small Spanish towns with an agricultural based economy, is very rural and unsophisticated. The town is made up up of small white-washed houses typical of this part of Spain and the general views are quite stunning, being surrounded by beautiful unspoilt coutryside. While the pace of life here may be too slow for most this is an ideal location for anyone wanting mimimum contact with the rest of the world and who loves country walks, hiking and mountain biking.
