Located in the very north-east of the province 185km from Granada City in a beautiful seeting near to the Sierra de la Sagra range.
According to 13th century documents the first settlement here was a farmhouse dependant on the nearby Huescar known as La Bolteruela. After the Reconquest the town was given given to Fadrique Alvarez de Toledo, Count of Lerin and High Constable of Navarra who changed the name to Puebla de Don Fadrique.
This is a small inland Spanish town with an unsophisticated rural feel and the pace of life is slow. The architecture is typical of the region being comprised of white-washed houses along narrow, winding streets. The main economic activity is agriculture.
